You cannot out train a bad diet

I spend a lot of time trying to convince my clients of the importance of fueling themselves for the 'task at hand'. eg

Eat a half of a turkey sandwich before working out or

Drink a serving of chocolate milk after a workout.

Both of the fueling methods have merit but getting the client to adapt and adopt these tried and true actions is like pulling teeth.

Eating a small amount of protein with carbs before a workout will fuel you with the energy needed to have a great and enduring workout.

Drinking that Chocolate milk afterwards will be used while the muscles are primed and ready to absorb the nutrients that will begin the repair and rebuild process.
